Reflection: What a beautiful place
to start our week…the beginning of creation.
In our world that can feel chaotic and we might question God’s presence
at times, it is refreshing to be reminded of all the good that God has
created. We are also refreshed and
rejuvenated by the reminder of the great power of God. We can sometimes forget the amazing-ness of
the fact that God created the world from nothing. When we feel doubtful of our world and our
ability to turn society back toward the faith, we can find solise in the fact that
God has done and continues to do amazing things. All it took was faith and a touch of Jesus’
robe, and His followers and believers were healed. Our world started from nothing, surely God
can guide us toward a holy state, if we are willing to listen to and trust in
the guidance and calling of the Holy Spirit in our own hearts.

impossible with God!
Discussion
Starters:
Younger saints: Take time today to slowly read through the reading from Genesis. We can find ourselves quickly reading this scripture because we have heard it so many times and it has become “too familiar” to us. Sit with your child and read it line by line. Discuss anything that stands out to you. Have your child draw a picture as you go along and discuss the creation story.

Discuss anything that stands out to you. Are there any details that you don’t remember noticing before? Is there anything that speaks to you today more than other times you have read this passage?

Fact: God is
almighty. There is nothing that He can’t
do (St. Joseph’s Baltimore Catechism No. 1, 2008, p. 18).
