Readings: Is 6:1-2a, 3-8; Ps 138:1-8; 1 Cor 15:1-11; Lk
5:1-11
Reflection: Isaiah hears the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom
shall I send? Who will go for us?” We need to listen, because God is still
making this same statement, this same calling, today. God is asking us “Whom shall I send?” God needs people to send into the world to do
His will, and the people to respond to Him are you and I. So we have the call from God, now it is time
to respond. Isaiah responded like
this: “Here I am, send me!” Will you?

respond?
Discussion
Starters:
Younger
saints: What
does the word evangelization mean?
(Spreading the Gospel and the life of Jesus to other people.) Who do we read about being called to
evangelize in today’s readings? (We hear
God asking who He should send, who will go out for Him. God is calling Isaiah to a life of
evangelization.) Who is called to
evangelize? (Everyone. We are all asked by God to teach others about
Jesus and the Gospel.)
Older
saints: “Who shall I
send? Who will go for us?” Reflect on this statement. Have you heard God’s call? How have you responded? Are you afraid, are you nervous, do you feel unequipped? Are these valid reasons to not reach out and
evangelize, or are they excuses we use to get out of doing what we are called
to do?
Scripture
Verse for the Week: “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom
shall I send? Who will go for us?” “Here I am,” I said; “send me!”” Isaiah 6:8
